Staffordshire was on the frontier of the Danelaw and this talk by the entertaining historian Roger Butters focuses on the history of the West Saxons under Alfred the Great and his daughter Aethelflaed versus the Vikings.  Covering interesting facts on Staffordshire’s resistance to the Norman Conquest, the role of the Lords Stafford in the Wars of the Roses and with especial reference to the 2nd Duke of Buckingham (who was also Earl of Stafford) and his part in the story of Richard III.
